Walt Barnes
CEO
With over 38 years in the HVAC service and design/build world, Walt has seen and worked on it all. From HVAC design and maintenance, to utility analysis, to system startups, he’s worked on an impressive list of commercial projects—including the Disney World Theatre Complex, the Kansas City Power and Light Building Complex, Johnson County Community College, Vail Resorts and more. Walt has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and started his career with Kansas City Power and Light doing energy audits for residential and commercial customers. He has experience in rate design and uses this to know how to keep energy demands and use low in home and business designs. He was born and raised in the Kansas City, MO area and has worked with national and local engineering firms, but the majority of his career has been either working for or owning HVAC Contracting and Service Companies.
James Ledford
Operations Guy
As the head of operations for Air Experts, James sees that our customers are taken care of—performing the scheduling, and providing the necessary service that our customers are looking for. His favorite part of the job? Helping people. More specifically, helping people stay comfortable, and leaving them with peace of mind. Besides being an Air Expert, James is a Family Expert—he and his wife are the parents of seven kids. (Yep, seven.) When he’s not busy doing things with and for them, he’s … wait, who are we kidding. James has no spare time. Around the office, James is known for doing what he says he’s going to do—and for being the “organized one.” He likes knowing where everything is, and that things are where they’re supposed to be. We’re thinking keeping track of seven kids sort of instilled that in him.
